PRESS RELEASE: Sun Prairie Police Arrest Subject in Stabbing Investigation

Sun Prairie, WI. On Friday, December 5, at about 10:25 a.m., a Sun Prairie Police Officer was
investigating a crash in the 100 block of Park Circle when a man approached and reported he had been
stabbed in a nearby apartment.

The officer requested EMS and moved the man to a safe location for treatment. Paramedics
from Sun Prairie Fire and EMS transported him to a local hospital, where he remains in stable
condition.

Additional officers went to the apartment building and contacted the woman involved. Officers
took 28-year-old Maria Antone of Sun Prairie into custody without incident. After contacting
Antone, officers learned through the investigation a disturbance had occurred between Antone
and the victim resulting in the victim being stabbed with a pair of scissors.

Antone was arrested and taken to the Dane County Jail. The Sun Prairie Police Department is
recommending the following charges to the Dane County District Attorney's Office:

• Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Domestic Enhancer
• Felony Bail Jumping

Antone was also booked in on a probation violation.
