Bank of America Breaks Ground for First Wisconsin Financial Center in Sun Prairie

Bank of America officials joined Sun Prairie Mayor Steve Stocker and WMC President/CEO Kurt Bauer to break ground on Wednesday, Nov. 12 for Bank of America’s first financial center in Wisconsin.

The new, approximately 4,300 sq. ft. financial center is scheduled to open at 1351 Cabela Drive in fall 2026 with seven to 10 employees.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am and how much we’ve been waiting for this very exciting occasion and day,” Drew Slocum, president Bank of America Wisconsin, said during the ceremony, which was held near the Hilton Garden Inn in the Prairie Lakes Shopping District.

“We’re really excited to be able to bring our world class consumer franchise to the state of Wisconsin,” Slocum added. “We have unparalleled high tech capabilities, and we pair that with high touch, local ability to build relationships. We look forward to serving the community here in the Madison area, and specifically in Sun Prairie.”

“Today is an exciting day — you’ve come to Sun Prairie, one of the fastest growing cities in Wisconsin, and we're so pleased to have you here,” said Stocker. “This is a great area out here, lots of traffic, good visibility. You picked a really, really good spot — a prime spot in our city. We look forward to the breaking of the ground, the building going up, and a ribbon cutting.”

“Sun Prairie is a great, great area — we’re really fortunate to have you here. And you know, just a few comments about Bank of America . . . it’s a great bank, a great name and a global reputation,” Bauer said during his remarks, which also noted WMC’s offices recently located nearby. “We’re very fortunate to have it here in Wisconsin. Congratulations —  I’m honored to be here.”

“I’m glad to bring the consumer business to Wisconsin with this financial center,” Bank of America Consumer Division Executive Brian Stanton said. “This marks two financial centers that we will have [in Wisconsin] — an investment of $13 million. That is a huge investment for us. And it’s not only the investment of these buildings, but it’s investment in the communities — it’s investment with the resources that we bring.”
