Sun Prairie's 76th Annual Groundhog Prognostication

The City of Sun Prairie is celebrating the 76th annual Sun Prairie Groundhog Day Prognostication ceremony on Friday, February 2, 2024 in Downtown Sun Prairie’s Cannery Square Park.
 

The ceremony will begin at 6:50AM with the Prognostication taking place at sunrise (7:11AM). Young and old alike will gather to welcome Jimmy the Groundhog to Sun Prairie and hear his Groundhog Day prediction!
 

Join us for a fun morning filled with surprises to hear Jimmy’s prediction live! Jimmy the Groundhog has an extremely high accuracy rate on his annual predictions, making him an outstanding leader in meteorological circles.
 

Businesses and organizations throughout the City of Sun Prairie will be offering many Groundhog Day specials for the hardy crowd the morning of the Prognostication.

Groundhog Day Specials:

Faded Roots Boutique will be open early at 7:30am to warm up and shop!

Beans N Cream Coffeehouse will be open for the Prognostication for attendees to grab a hot beverage and bite to eat.

Razor Sharp Screen Printing & Wisconsin Apparel will have lots of Groundhog Day merchandise for you including shirts, buttons, hats, totes, stuff animals and coasters! They will be at the Prognostication selling merch and their store will open early for shoppers.
